What Is It?

Beard butter is a combination of cosmetic butter and oils that provides deep moisturizing and conditioning to the beard. It is also used as a styling agent that helps make the beard tame and manageable with a light to medium hold. It is a thick buttery consistency that is solid at room temperature but melts when you apply it.

What’s In It?

The most important part of beard butter is the ingredients. Cosmetic butter is rich in nutrients for your skin and hair. They are great at providing moisture and also allowing the hair to be conditioned and tamed. Beard butter will create a rich conditioning effect for your hair while providing shine and manageability. It is also easier to apply than beard oil.
Beard butter is made by combining cosmetics butter with oils. For our beard butter, we use premium butter and oils that you won’t find in most standard beard butter. Our beard butter is formulated to be highly conditioning and moisturizing but non-greasy. We use mango butter as our base due to its ability to be highly moisturizing without being greasy. Next, kokum butter is added for its ability to heal the skin, anti-aging properties, promote beard growth and great for sensitive skin. Babassu oil is a light oil from Brazil that is great at moisturizing the hair and adding volume without being greasy and heavy. Other oils and butter that are included are cocoa butter, castor oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, and vitamin e oil. These are premium butters and oils that aren’t included in most beard products out there.

The Benefits

Beard butter will give your beard deeper conditioning and moisturizing than beard oil. The butter is better at locking in moisture and also has additional benefits such as healing and antibacterial (kokum butter) properties. They are packed with nutrients that needed to maintain a growing healthy beard. Beard butter is especially great for longer beards that need more moisture and conditioning than they can get from beard oil. If you’re serious about your beard and want to create the best conditions for growing an awesome mane, then beard butter is something you need to add to your beard grooming routine.
What many forget is that there’s skin under the beard, and that also needs to be taken care of. Beard butter with its nutrient-packed butter and oils will help create good skin conditions that will promote beard growth.

How To Apply Beard Butter

The best way to use beard butter is daily after you have washed your beard or showered, but you can apply to a dry beard as well. Take a dime-size amount and work it into your beard until the beard butter is evenly worked throughout the hair. Style as you wish. It will give a light to medium hold. Our beard butter is formulated to be fast-sinking and non-greasy, meaning the beard butter will rub fast into your skin and hair, and won’t have a lasting oily feel on your face and hands.
The benefit of applying beard butter on a wet beard is that it locks in the moisture from the water. This gives even a better moisturizing and conditioning effect to your beard. If you don’t wash your beard, even wetting it a little before applying beard butter will produce better results.
Something to add: Beard butter isn’t a replacement for your beard oil, you can use it alongside it. Beard oil is great for providing moisture, but beard butter gives even more benefits. The best way to combine beard oil and beard butter is to add a little beard oil to your beard, and then rub in the beard butter to lock in the moisture.
If you want to go to the next level with your beard care, beard butter is t a great option for your beard grooming routine. If you are having issues with a dry beard, dry skin, irritation, and beard dandruff, or just want a healthier and fuller beard you can’t go wrong with a quality beard butter. Our Havana Beard Butter is made with natural premium butter and oils, a great scent, it’s nongreasy, and makes your beard look like the beard it was always made to be!

Beard Maintenance: How to Maintain A Healthy Beard with Beard Oil

Beards has become the new statement piece for men these days. More and more men are popping up with the always classic beard. There hasn’t been much out there about how men should take care of their beards. Well we are here to let you know how you can start taking care of your beard and looking your best. One of the easiest and best ways to take care of your beard is with beard oil.

Most men forget that the beard is made up of hair and the skin underneath. That’s where beard oil comes in. If you leave your beard to chance you might develop dry beard hair and also beard dandruff (yes it’s a real thing). If you’re taking the time to grow that luxurious beard, you might as well take care of it.

A great beard oil will provide moisture to the hair and skin underneath the beard. It will prevent the hair and skin from becoming dry and flaky. A beard oil should contain light oils that nourish and tame the beard without being too heavy. Our Havana Bay Beard Oil is crafted with light and premium oils for the skin. Coconut, Sweet Almond, Argan, and Jojoba oils provide nutrients and moisture to the hair and skin. While aloe extract and vitamin E oil provide healing and antioxidant benefits. All these ingredients combined creates a healthier and softer beard.

The Havana Bay Beard Oil is scented with our popular Havana Bay fragrance. It’s a handcrafted scent featuring notes of Bay Rum and Cuban Cigar. It’s not overpowering but packs a masculine, seductive, clean, and fresh scent.

To use, all you need is a dime-sized amount and work it into your beard daily. If you wash your beard make sure you apply the beard oil while your beard is damp to lock in more moisture. You’ll notice a healthier, softer, and great smelling beard.

5 Ways to Enjoy Summer and Avoid Sunburn

Summer is here and that means barbecues, outdoor sports, trips to the lake and maximum exposure to the blazing sun rays. All guys have been there before. You think you’re invincible and spend hours in the sunlight. Later on that evening, you notice that you are about as red as a lobster. While trying to avoid a farmer’s tan, they got a nasty sunburn in exchange.

Sunburns are not only annoying, but they can be downright painful. Over time, they can cause permanent wrinkles and worse, skin cancers. Lesson learned and now you want to avoid getting sunburned like you avoid the plague. Besides, you want to enjoy the summer vibes, not the harmful UV rays. Here are the top 5 ways to avoid getting sunburned this season.

1. Wear sunscreen and reapply

Besides avoiding the sun altogether, your best fighting agent against its harmful UV rays is through the application of sunscreen. Opt for types that are at least 30 SPF. Anything below that can be less coverage, increasing your risk. It is also key that you reapply every few hours. Sunscreen absorbs into your skin over time so you need to reapply to provide continuous protection.

2. Cover it up!

Yes, the summer season can bring in some blistering temperatures but the harmful rays also come alongside that. Wearing covered clothing or accessories help tremendously against potential sunburns. Opt for light colors and cotton fabrics to alleviate discomfort from the heat. When you can, wear a hat to protect your face and sunglasses for your eyes. You cannot necessarily get sunburned on your eyes, but the harmful UV rays can definitely cause some damage to them.

3. Avoid peak hours of sun damage

The sun has an optimal time frame for emitting very damaging UV rays. When possible, avoid sun exposure between the hours of 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Throughout the day, you should find shade in general; but, it would be best to limit your time in the sun during these peak hours. Doing so will help you fight off risks for sunburns.

4. Lather on the oil

Regular application of natural oils such as coconut or jojoba can help you in your defense against sunburns. Your skin naturally absorbs the oil to sustain and restore its cellular production process. Maintaining your skin’s health is a good way to keep it strong when exposing it to the sun on a daily basis. The oils keep your skin hydrated and are all natural, so you do not have to worry about absorbing any damaging parabens.

5. Consume more Vitamin D

Limited sun exposure is good for you as it helps your body absorb Vitamin D, which is essential for the regulation of calcium and maintenance of your bones. You are able to protect yourself from UV rays by increasing your intake of Vitamin D through other sources like fish oil. Doing so can slightly increase your tolerance to the sun and in turn, prevent you from getting sunburned.

In the event of a sunburn...
You did everything you could, but sometimes, you still end up with a pesky sunburn. The best way to remedy its symptoms is to take a cool bath in order to bring your skin’s temperature down. Then, apply aloe vera to begin the healing process. Aloe vera is the number one cooling agent that is safe and effective. Be sure to drink plenty of water and apply lotion regularly to keep your skin as hydrated as possible.

Protecting yourself from sunburns does not make you a wuss. It makes you smart. Sunburns do more than cause temporary pain and discomfort. Over time, they can leave damaging effects on your skin and health. Safeguard yourself by following these easy tips and you can safely savor your summer activities.
